Comment spam

Yesterday I found the first spam among the comments of one of my posts. I'm quite happy that it took over 1.5 years to get the first spam ... which can probably be attributed to the captcha protection that I have set up some time ago. Smiling I love the world of open source. Laughing out loud

:-o

Today I got another comment spam. Shocked The former came from a Brazil IP, the latter from the USA. Both contained only nonsense crap (as if a cat walked over the keyboard), so I assume these were automated "attacks". Since the captcha mechanism is there to filter out such (I don't think that people would use OCR just to brake my site), I suspect there's a Drupal vulnerability in my setup. Maybe it's time to upgrade to 5.x. For that I need an 5.x compatible Acidfree module which was not yet production ready the last time I checked. Hopefully they made some progress since then. Shocked
