2004-ben vettem az első (és eme link rögzítésekor még az aktuális) kocsimat, egy 2001-es évjáratú Ford Focust. A klub fórumából rengeteg segítséget merítettem a vásárláshoz és azóta is sok apró kérdésre találtam itt választ.

Just about twenty minutes ago I almost had a crash with a truck. And not on the highway, but inside the city! It was at the point where Nagy Lajos k. street meets the Örs Vezér square (in Budapest, Hungary). The road splits into two lanes at this point, the truck followed the left one and I was about to pass in the right one. However I noticed that the truck started to drift towards me! It already crossed the line, when I hit the horn. I think I even heard the truck touch my left mirror before it started to get back into its lane. It was definitely closer than healthy. We stopped one lane apart from each other at the traffic lights before the big crossing of Örs V. square (since at this point there're three lanes, one turns to the left and two go straight ahead). I looked up to the driver of the truck and saw him showing with his hands that he almost fell asleep and that he was sorry. I bet he was. How sorry would he have been if he bumped me against one of the traffic light columns? Probably I used up all my luck for this month tonight, so I better be even more careful for the next one.

I'm now watching an episode of the fifth season of "24". A terrorist tries to flee by car that he just cracked. He simply broke the window, ripped off some of the outer cover from below the steering wheel and short-cut two wires. The engine started. I'm wondering whether it's really that easy. In almost all movies they show similiar scenes about steeling cars. What about immobilizers? I thought they should prevent such "one-touch" cracks. Or maybe average American cars have no steal-prevention mechanisms?

Hazafelé indulva észrevettem, hogy a kocsi szélvédőjén van valami az ablaktörlő alatt. Közelebbről szemügyre véve kiderült, hogy egy kis 2007-es naptár ... na de mi volt a másik oldalán?

Elsőre nevettem, aztán kattant valami a fejemben és gyorsan körbejártam a kocsit, hogy minden üveg egyben van-e ...
