Home - The Movie

"In 200.000 years on Earth, humanity has upset the balance of the planet, estabilished by nearly four billion years of evolution. The price to pay is high, but it's too late to be a pessimist: humanity has barely ten years to reverse the trend, become aware of the full extent of its spoliation of the Earth's riches and change its patterns of consumption.

By bringing us unique footage from over fifty countries, all seen from the air, by sharing with us his wonder and his concern, with this film Yann Arthus-Bertrand lays a foundation stone for the edifice that, together, we must rebuild."

The movie features beautiful cinematography. If for no other reason, then watch it just because it's a masterpiece in showing off the beauties of Earth. Smiling

Yet another shark attack

Today I saw news of a recent -presumably deadly- shark attack near the West Australian coast. If you google on the event, you'll find that only half of the news portals mention that the victim (Brian Guest, 51) was an avid fisherman and diver, and he had campaigned to protect sharks from hunting.

Saving Planet Earth

There's a brand new TV show airing at BBC One: Saving Planet Earth. It's a series about various species heading for extinction due to human activities. The show started on 24th June with an intro by David Attenborough. Check it out, pretty interesting.

Global warming - how to save our planet from ourselves?

Have you already heard about global warming? Probably yes since news is recently full of it. However in case your're one of the few who didn't: global warming is the increase in the average temperature of the Earth's atmosphere and oceans in recent (and coming) decades. Many think that it's just a theory (or a myth) of a couple of "crazy" scientists, but they couldn't be more wrong than that. The warming is a fact acknowledged now all over the world (where I mean not just scientists, but the governments of most countries too) and it's something that should make you worry and not just a little bit. Read on for some pointers on where you can go to learn more about the topic and what you can do about it.
