I just faced the issue that our company templates do not render correctly in OpenOffice on Ubuntu, because the Tahoma font is not installed. It was part of the
msttcorefonts package, but was removed, because Microsoft distributes only the regular variant in their free to use font package and the bold and italic variants are missing. The maintainers of
msttcorefonts decided that including only the regular version of Tahoma causes more trouble, than it fixes ... therefore they removed the support for Tahoma. However you can still have it by manually installing the font as described
here.
