I'll already noticed that IMDb has a pro variant for paying customers, but up until now I never faced any limitation in the basic search. Just a few seconds ago I was looking for possible movie adaptations of "Momo" (a book by Michael Ende) and instead one of the hits (a mini series made in 2007) the following text showed up: "More information for this In Development project is only available on IMDbPro. To sign-up for a 14-day free trial, click here."
Probably it was just a question of time until IMDb owners decided to make this step.
