smh.com.au. I think that Linus has done a very good job at starting the development of Linux and he has earned his place in the hall of fame (of IT), but since then it has grown several times of its original magnitude and
him calling Linux his own is a
little bit of an exaggeration. I believe that Linux (and an OS in general) is not just the kernel, but the whole stuff that let's you work. Of course it can be as minimal as a command line shell or as blown up as a 3D GUI desktop. But an OS is never just the kernel, which in itself is not taking you anywhere. I believe that the various Linux variants (distributions) are the work of several thousand programmers and we owe them all for the creation of the Linux OS that we all know and got love to use.
