The idea is good (nothing groundbreaking, but interesting) and the movie itself is pretty fine too. Til around the first half I thought it's quite realistic. I mean most probably people would react like this if some huge, unknown creature attacked a large city like Manhatten. Eg. people started shooting pictures with their cellulars, when the head of the freedom statue crashed down on the street ... I'm sure it'd happen just like that. However the director (or the producers?) could not resist the temptation to turn the movie into some Godzilla readaptation. Come on ... was that face-to-face shot necessary at the end? It's so unrealistic that a monster -just being bombed- has nothing better to do than attack chopters flying by. Putting this into the film was simply a dumb thing to. And btw. the chopter was flying far too high, the monster must have been a flea in it's previous life to make such a jump. :-> Anyway, I'm not sorry to have seen the movie, it was quite thrilling even despite these small flaws.
