I found a nice document at IBM's "Redpapers" resource center describing how to tune you Windows for performance. It's a generic guide and it's perfectly usable for both servers and workstations, Win2000 and XP systems (not just Win2003 and IBM servers as it's title says ). It summarizes a lot of know-how that I've read about in recent years.
