Bug in Mac OS X version of Firefox 2.x

Firefox shows the RSS icon in the address bar if the page you're visiting offers RSS content through a <link> tag with type="application/rss+xml". However in the Mac OS X version of Firefox 2.0.0.14 (and probably all previous 2.x versions) selecting an RSS feed by clicking on this icon loads not the given http://... URL, but something like feed://http//... instead. The Windows version of FF loads the RSS feed properly.

PS: of course I disabled all my extensions for testing this problem and they didn't make a difference.

RSS feed icons in Firefox location bar?

Firefox 3 has the bug too. Or is this some feature? Shock I could not find a site where clicking the RSS icon at the right-most side of the location bar didn't result in an error message. Wow! I've got it! The bug comes up only if you're using a PAC file for proxy configuration (it's called "Automatic proxy configuration" in Firefox preferences). The RSS icon works as expected if you're using no proxies at all or if you're using a fixed proxy (HTTP, SOCKS, etc.).
