Pidgin: IM client from the gOS pack

Pidgin is a multi-protocol Instant Messaging client that allows you to use all of your IM accounts at once.
Pidgin can work with: AIM, Bonjour, Gadu-Gadu, Google Talk, Groupwise, ICQ, IRC, MSN, MySpaceIM, QQ, SILC, SIMPLE, Sametime, XMPP, Yahoo, Zephyr.

One interesting thing about it is that gOS (a desktop operating system, which in fact is a modified Ubuntu) contains it as the IM client. This might mean that Pidgin gets commercial funding/support, which might give a large boost to development, trustworthyness and stability of this app. It will be interesting to follow up on the evolution of Pidgin. Pidgin is fine

After using Pidgin for a couple of months, I'm quite satisfied. It beats KDE's Kontact by far. There's only one annoying bug: the icon of Pidgin is not sized properly in the KDE launch bar (or whatever it's called). You've to enter Pidgin's preferences and toggle some setting (set in "Preferences" / "Interface" the "Show system tray icon" from "Always" to "Never" and back) to get the icon to it's intended size.
