Home - The Movie

"In 200.000 years on Earth, humanity has upset the balance of the planet, estabilished by nearly four billion years of evolution. The price to pay is high, but it's too late to be a pessimist: humanity has barely ten years to reverse the trend, become aware of the full extent of its spoliation of the Earth's riches and change its patterns of consumption.

By bringing us unique footage from over fifty countries, all seen from the air, by sharing with us his wonder and his concern, with this film Yann Arthus-Bertrand lays a foundation stone for the edifice that, together, we must rebuild."

The movie features beautiful cinematography. If for no other reason, then watch it just because it's a masterpiece in showing off the beauties of Earth. Smile

The Book of Eli

There's always one thing that most of the post-apocalyptic tales screw up: where do the (bad) guys get their gas from? I mean it's one thing to have oil available, but for cars to roll you need a working refinery. And I haven't seen any in this movie either.

P.S.: this movie is sooo hollywoodish ... Smile Not too bad, but I liked The Road a lot more. The latter focused more on people and not visual effects (ie. showing off the state of the world after the nuclear war).

Blade - best vampire slaying movie ever :-)

Wesley Snipes was born to play the role of Blade. The best comic strip adaptation ever. Smile

A few thoughts on "Hackers Wanted"

I think the makers of the movie did a fair job in giving a chance to both the hackers and their "victims" to explain their POVs. I liked the historical aspects/flashbacks too.

The Great Debaters

An excellent movie in every aspect. I saw during the closing credits that Denzel Washington did not only play a role in it, but he was the director too. There're only a few (among the celebrities) who are able to master both acting and directing. It seems D.W. is one of them. I loved the performance of the young Denzel Whitaker. Not sure yet whether it was a one-time event, but still ... he did real good.

World's Greatest Dad

A very good movie. Robin Williams is as good as usually. Smile

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

This G.I. Joe picture probably won the first prize in the contest of the worst and most expensive movies ever made. Smile

My favourite actors and actresses

I'll make a vague attempt to write a list of my favourites. Of course the list'll change (expand) over time. Smile
Let's see ...

Parental Guidance Suggested

Have you seen the latest trailer for "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince"? I have. The opening screen says: "The following preview has been approved for all audiences by the Motion Picture Association of America Inc. The film advertised has been rated: PG - Parental Guidance Suggested. Some material may not be suitable for children.". Money talks. Of course ... what else should we expect. What do they mean by "approved for all audiences"??? And "some material"? This and the last few Potter films are everything, but made for little children. And don't take me wrong: I like the Potter movies. But children under a certain age should not get to see them at all since they become more and more darker as the story unfolds.

City of Ember

IMDb

There's not much to say about it. This is one of the dumbest movies one could get by spending 38 million bucks. Sad Don't watch it! Please!
